Jacques Pépin's Beef Stew in Red Wine Sauce
After last week's frigid temperatures it felt like it was time to go in search of a new beef stew recipe. This recipe from legendary chef Jacques Pépin is described by Food & Wine as "a celebration of cozy French fare".
Apparently this is a family recipe. Jacques mother, a chef and restaurateur, served this recipe at her restaurant, Le Pélican, in Lyon, France.
Just a quick note: you'll need a whole bottle of dry red wine to make the sauce :)
