Lynn Karlin's White Beech Oyster Mushroom, Signed & Numbered Print
Hammertown has been a fan of Lynn's work for ages.
She writes, my move to a Maine farm in 1983 gave me a new appreciation and respect for fresh food and the enjoyment of eating with the seasons. Twelve years ago, I began a quest to honor even the humblest vegetables by elevating them to the place where they belong: on a pedestal. The images in this collection, The Pedestal Series, and two other recent series celebrate the beauty of the harvest and capture the unique character of often overlooked plants. This body of work has received many accolades through the years and has won numerous prestigious awards.
As one critic commented, “Lynn Karlin encourages us to slow down and take a closer look at the vegetables we perhaps taken for granted on a daily basis. Her still-lives call attention to the gorgeous colors, textures, and intricacy of the individual plants that nourish us and our families.”
